Centro de Artes is a two-story exhibit space located in the heart of downtown San Antonio’s Zona Cultural. The space is dedicated to telling the story of the Latino experience with a focus on South Texas through San Antonio and regional art, history, and culture, and showcasing Latino artists and Latino-themed artworks.
Managed by the City of San Antonio’s Department of Arts & Culture on an interim basis, the Centro de Artes gallery and exhibit space is located on the grounds of Historic Market Square and is free and open to the public.
Centro de Artes most recently served as the Educational & Cultural Arts Center for Texas A&M University-San Antonio, and is the current home to the San Antonio Tricentennial offices and downtown offices for KWEX Univision 41 television station.
Visitors to Centro de Artes are also invited to visit the City of San Antonio’s Plaza de Armas Gallery (115 Plaza de Armas, 78205), also managed by the Department of Arts & Culture and located a short walk from Centro de Artes. The Plaza de Armas Gallery is also free and open to the public and showcases the works of San Antonio artists.
