Ella Austin Community Center - Early Childhood Development

The Early Childhood Development Center is now enrolling children ages 6 weeks to 11 years of age!

​Our agency philosophy is that the earliest years of a child’s life are crucial in predicting ultimate success in school and life.

Early Head Start:
This partnership with the city of San Antonio provides a high-quality developmentally appropriate continuum of care and social services to infants and toddlers that are directly aligned with school readiness practices and skill attainment. The program serves children six weeks to 35 months of age and provides education, health, nutrition, and other needed support services.

Reading Program:
The Ella Austin Intensive Reading Intervention Program is an essential component of our year-round academic enrichment initiative. We are committed to closing the Reading skills and academic achievement gap for the students we serve. Our one-on-one and small group instruction takes place in the secure and supportive setting of Bowden Academy (SAISD). Using proven evidence-based strategies, we strive to exceed the standards established by the Texas Education Agency and achieve the learning goals of our students and their families. Our program also features engaging field trips that provide experiential learning opportunities to supplement and enrich classroom learning.
