City of Fredericksburg - 4th of July Parades and Fireworks

Enjoy an All-American small-town celebration in Fredericksburg each Fourth of July.
8:30 AM Children and patriotism will come together for the 40th annual July 4 children's parade, sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7105. All children age 12 and under can participate in the parade in an annual display of patriotism. Children are allowed to bring small pets and decorated bicycles, tricycles, wagons or scooters. Participants may enter various categories to be judged and win prizes including "Uncle Sam", "Miss Liberty", "Best Bike Boy", "Best Bike Girl", "Best Dressed Pet", "Best Group" and more. No sign-up is required for those wanting to participate. The VFW Post sponsors this event to encourage patriotism at a young age and to permit the expression of American ideals. The parade is totally supported by the VFW Post with member volunteers and VFW Post funds.
10:00 AM Enjoy the Fredericksburg Fourth of July Parade down Main Street featuring nearly 100 floats decked out in their patriotic best, followed by a weekend of Patriotic fun. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or park a vehicle along the route to enjoy the parade.
9:30 PM The City of Fredericksburg hosts this fireworks show at Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park to celebrate our country’s independence. Multiple viewing areas are available inside the park and at the Gillespie County Fairgrounds. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs for seating, eats and drinks.
