San Antonio is cordially invited to Main Plaza to participate in Mesa de la Gente/Table of the People, food drive and interfaith celebration.
Food drive: Bring canned goods for the Mesa!
Bring canned goods and watch as we use these to create the shape of a table. Let’s show how big we CAN make this table for the San Antonio Food Bank. Those who bring their cans will receive a free hot chocolate or popcorn, courtesy of Plaza Café.
San Antonio Food Bank requests the following items as their “twelve most wanted”: Peanut butter, cereal, tuna, beans, rice, pasta, chili and soups, canned lunch meats, pet food, pop top food items, full meals (canned or boxed), baby food and diapers.
Interfaith Celebration: an annual tradition
At 7:00 p.m., join the Mesa de la Gente Planning Collaborative for an interfaith celebration inside San Fernando Cathedral. This event, now an annual tradition hosted by San Fernando Cathedral and the Archdiocese of San Antonio, brings people of many different faiths together in expressing gratitude, praise, and prayer.
Collaborating Partners
The Mesa de la Gente Planning Collaborative includes the City of San Antonio’s Human Services-Faith Based Initiative, Compassionate San Antonio, the Interfaith San Antonio Alliance, The Archdiocese of San Antonio, the San Antonio Food Bank, and Main Plaza Conservanc. Special thanks to San Anto Cultural Arts for the use of their image “Una Mesa Para La Gente.”
Bring canned goods for the San Antonio Food Bank. Parking available throughout downtown. Rand Garage is closest.
