Join the Heart of Texas Concert Band for their annual composer showcase featuring Charles Booker! The program consists entirely of pieces written by Charles Booker, and he will be conducting the band!
Charles Booker has over 100 published compositions that have been performed internationally by numerous groups including the Fort Smith Symphony Orchestra, U.S. Army Band and Orchestra (“Pershing’s Own”), and the U.S. Army Field Band. As a trumpeter, Booker performed for the funerals of President Truman and President Johnson. As the conductor of the 3rd Armored Division Band in Germany, Booker conducted ceremonies at Rhein Main Air Force Base for the returning American hostages from Iran. He also marched in the inauguration parades for George H. W. Bush and William J. Clinton.
