Carver Community Cultural Center - Summer Intensives

Summer Theatre Intensive
June 9 – 27, 2025 (M-F; 8:30 am – 4:00 pm)
Performance: Friday, June 27 at 7pm
Our three-week Theatre Intensive offers young actors and technicians an immersive experience in theatre under the guidance of theatre professionals. The experience includes daily instruction in acting skills, vocal coaching, and choreography. Students interested in technical theatre will work alongside professional technicians on set design, construction, costuming, lighting, and sound. The intensive culminates in a fully produced performance featuring the full company.

Summer Dance Intensive
July 14 – 25, 2025 (M-F; 8:30 am – 4:00 pm)
Recital: Friday, July 25 at 7pm
Under the guidance of professional dancers from internationally acclaimed Dallas Black Dance Theatre, student dancers will expand their artistry in a challenging, yet supportive environment. The program, curriculum includes instruction in ballet, contemporary, jazz and African dance vernaculars, with all dancers learning terminology, technique, and choreography. At the conclusion of the two weeks, the dancers will perform a recital showcasing their learning in each of the genres.
