Ease into the new year with your favorite canine friend on a guided dog-walk along the Savannah Loop Trail.
This hike is approximately 2.25 miles in length with a small amount of elevation change and relatively gentle terrain. Hike leaders will share the natural history of GCSNA and point out the important restoration work being done along this trail.
Who Is Invited:
Open to all ages; no strollers please. Minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.
Where to Meet:
Park in Lot C and meet your guides at the Frontcountry Trailhead.
How to Prepare:
Dress for hiking outdoors; sunscreen and hat recommended. Wear sturdy footwear appropriate for rough trails; bring one (1) liter of water PER PERSON and a snack if you like.
Pets must be leashed at all times. Group size for this hike is limited to the first 15 individuals.
Plan to arrive early as mornings can be very busy. The Natural Area’s front gates open at 7AM; plan to check in at the Frontcountry Trailhead and be ready to go no later than 8:45 a.m. The hike starts promptly at 9:00 a.m.
Though the activity is free, entrance fees to the Natural Area do apply. We often fill to capacity. To ensure entrance and save time at the Fee Booth, please pre-purchase and print out a day pass. Please note: reserving a Day Pass does not guarantee a spot for you on the hike! The hike is limited to the first 15 participants to check-in with the hike leader.
