Take a 5-mile hike with a ranger to see the dinosaur tracks at Government Canyon.
It's hard to imagine, but our location was ocean-side property 100 million years ago. How do we know? Government Canyon is home to fossil tracks from two different dinosaurs, a sauropod and a theropod who left tracks along a muddy beach which is now preserved as rock. Take a hike with a ranger to see the tracks and learn what we know about them so far.
Who Is Invited:
This hike is open to ages 10 and up. Minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. No pets please. Be aware that this hike includes some elevation gain and loss over rough, rocky topography. The hike to the tracks is 2.5 miles one-way, making a 5-mile round trip.
