For thousands of years, the diverse native plants of south-central Texas have offered food, medicine, fiber, and other gifts to people who know how to use them.
Hike with a Ranger to discover some ways earlier human inhabitants of Government Canyon (the Coahuiltecans, Lipan Apaches, Mescalero Apaches, and Comanches, among others) used plants we can still find here today. We'll walk 2-3 miles, identify plants, and incorporate at least a few hands-on activities along the way.
