Join us for a full day of activities in anticipation of the total solar eclipse, famously known as the “Great North American Eclipse.” The festivities begin at 11:00 a.m. and guests can learn about and prepare for the upcoming eclipse happening on Monday, April 8th.

The zoo will provide special viewing glasses for guests to have a fun time while preparing for the eclipse the following day. During the total solar eclipse, the moon will pass in front of the sun, causing the sun to be entirely blocked and creating a period of total darkness.
Eclipse Extravaganza, presented by Parkhurst NuVision isn’t just about stargazing. We have a herd of fun and educational activities planned throughout the day. You can learn more about our nocturnal animals, how the moon’s cycles impact their behavior, and even assist us in conducting ethograms, a fascinating technique used to study animal behavior. You have a chance to play researcher for the day, contributing to our understanding of our furry, feathery, and scaly residents.

Roar and soar together at Eclipse Extravaganza, presented by Parkhurst NuVision lasik eye surgery San Antonio.
