Family Stroll at Government Canyon State Natural Area

Start your kids out on the right foot, enjoying the outdoors! Join dedicated volunteers on a fun, easy, and family-friendly walk.
Participants will learn about nature, wildlife, native plants, and whatever else the kiddos find along the way!
Activity distance will be approximately 1.25 miles on a compacted crushed granite surface. Strollers welcome!
All ages welcome; minors must be accompanied by their legal guardian. No pets please.
Though the hike is free, entrance fees to the Natural Area apply.
Meet at the Rock Garden beside the Visitor’s Center. Open to the first 15 who check in at the Rock Garden between 7:30 and 7:45 AM. The stroll starts promptly at 8:00 AM. We will use the Discovery Trail.
Dress for being outdoors. Comfortable shoes/boots, sunscreen, bug spray, and a hat are recommended. Wear layers that can be added or removed as weather conditions change. Bring at least 1 liter of water per person and snacks.

Please note: Reserving a Day Pass does not guarantee a spot for you on the walk! The walk is limited to the first 15 participants to check-in with the hike leader.
