CoSA Arts and Culture - Sunday at Centro de Artes

The City of San Antonio Arts & Culture Department invites you to join in Centro de Artes, a day full of fun for all ages, including the San Antonio Indie Comics Fest, storytelling, an arts activity, Lotería games, and more. The event is free and open to all.
SCHEDULE:
12 – 5 PM San Antonio Indie Comics Fest
More than a dozen independent comic creators from San Antonio and around Texas will sell their work.
12:30 PM Creative Writing in the Gallery
Author and exhibition curator, Xelena González, will guide attendees through an ekphrastic writing activity. Participants will find inspiration in the works on display and write their own stories. Prompts and supplies will be provided.
1:30 PM Art Activity
Exhibition artist and illustrator, Jose Sotelo Yamasaki, will lead participants in printmaking activity. Supplies provided. Limited to 25 participants.
2:30 PM DEAR (“Drop Everything and Read”)
Books from the exhibition will be available for attendees to read.
3:30 PM Lotería
Author and exhibition curator, Xelena González, along with artist, Jose Sotelo Yamasaki, will lead participants in a few rounds of Lotería. In between games, the artist and author will share readings from Lotería Remedios, insight into the creation of the deck, and answer questions about the art.
