  • When: Monday, April 28, 2025,  4:00 pm
  • Location: 300 Alamo Plaza, San Antonio, TX 78205

The Alamo Mission Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas will host the Annual Pilgrimage to the Alamo in honor of the Alamo Heroes and the heritage of Texas. The Pilgrimage began in 1918 as a tribute to the fallen soldiers of the Battle of the Alamo on San Jacinto Day. It consists of a processional of military, community groups, and individuals who walk from the Tobin Center Vietnam War Memorial and culminates with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Alamo. Participation for this event is open to the public.

If you'd like to participate, arrive at the Tobin Center Vietnam Memorial by 3:15 p.m. and you will receive instructions from DRT members. Bring a wreath or flowers for placement at the Alamo. The processional will begin at 4 p.m. and continue to the Alamo. Customarily, period dress or the official dress of the organization represented is worn. Fiesta attire or period dress is recommended for individuals. Groups and individuals honor the heroes by laying a wreath or flowers on the green at the Alamo. A solemn ceremony will follow.

As the numerous groups make their way to the Alamo, the names of the fallen heroes will be read. Following the procession and placing of the wreaths, a ceremony will be held featuring a keynote speaker, TBD.
