Hemisfair

Hemisfair

Downtown is the heart and soul of our City, and we desire to make it everybody’s neighborhood. Featuring iconic landmarks such as the Tower of Americas, the Alamo, and the Riverwalk, San Antonio must protect its most vital and historical resources, and invest to create a more desirable place for locals.

Hemisfair is an urban district in the heart of San Antonio with three public parks: Yanaguana Garden, Civic Park, and Tower Park.

Yanaguana Garden opened in 2015 and is home to the Union Pacific Railroad Splash Pad, an inclusive playground, and locally-owned food and beverage businesses. Civic Park Phase 1 opened in 2023 and has a great lawn, tree-lined promenade, and sustainable interactive water features called The Springs. Tower Park is being further redeveloped and is home to the Tower of the Americas.

The redevelopment efforts by two non-profits: Hemisfair Park Area Redevelopment Corporation (HPARC) and Hemisfair Conservancy are designed to transform the vacant space from the 1968 World’s Fair into a vibrant, active urban parks district - reintroducing people and a neighborhood back to the downtown core.
