Note: This event was originally on June 21, but has been rescheduled for Friday, June 20.
Meet a Giant Walkingstick, listen to a story about its life, build a crafty critter, and make a S'more at our campfire. Our story this time is Good Trick, Walking Stick, by Sheri Mabry Bestor.
Who is invited:
All are welcome, but this activity is best for ages 5-10 years. Minors must be accompanied by their parent or guardian. No pets please.
Where to meet:
This activity meets at the Amphitheater, near the Frontcountry Trailhead. Lot C will be the closest parking. There is a gravel path leading from the parking lot to the amphitheater. The amphitheater is near an accessible restroom.
Registration is NOT required for this activity. Though the event is free, entrance fees to the Natural Area do apply. We often fill to capacity. To ensure entrance and save time at the Fee Booth, please pre-purchase and print out a day pass. There is often a line at the fee booth; arrive early to get to your activity on time. Day passes can be reserved beginning one month before the date of your visit.
Dress for time spent outdoors. Comfortable shoes, bug spray and a hat are recommended. Bring at least one bottle of water per person.
This program is weather-dependent and subject to cancellation. Check trail conditions by calling or visit the GCSNA website/social media.
