Stepping Up Awareness - 5K Run/Walk at San Antonio State Hospital

We are so excited to open the beautiful grounds of the San Antonio State Hospital to host our Stepping Up Awareness - 5K Run/Walk! Come join us and show your support for mental health! Don’t miss the beautiful views of the newly completed state-of-the-art hospital and a glimpse of the Tower of the Americas. This is the only time of the year that the campus is open for runners and walkers. Dogs on a leash and baby strollers are welcome! Volunteer groups are also welcome to come and cheer everyone on to the finish line.
This event benefits the Volunteer Services Council of the San Antonio State Hospital. The Council’s primary mission is to improve the quality of life and enhance the well-being of patients receiving treatment at the San Antonio State Hospital by providing goods and services not funded by the state. The patients at the San Antonio State Hospital are receiving treatment and are on their way to recovery from mental illness.
