The In Conversation series is designed to spark discussion, conversation, and curiosity through presentations by community artists, thinkers, and leaders.
Olivia Kost is a Texas Parks and Wildlife biologist who helps landowners and communities support native wildlife and habitats. She fell in love with birds while studying coastal prairies and have been sharing that passion ever since. Whether it’s spotting a hawk overhead or helping someone use binoculars for the first time, she loves connecting people to the wild world around them!
Join Olivia Kost for "What the Heck Is That Bird?" - A Birding Talk & Demonstration, an interactive presentation, followed by a hands-on activity where families and kids can learn to use binoculars, identify birds, and explore birding apps like Merlin or iNaturalist. Take a brief walk near the casting pond to practice spotting birds in the field.
