The Parks and Recreation Department offers the Summer Youth Program at designated community centers and select school sites in partnership with local area school districts.  The Summer Youth Program is offered for youth ages 6-12 at school sites and 6-14 at community centers.  All sites will receive lunch and a snack daily.  Age appropriate activities are offered to participants in weekly themes.  Activities include traditional sports, active games, craft projects, and art exploration as well as math and science enrichment.  Participants also enjoy reading in collaboration with the San Antonio Public Library's Summer Reading Program.

2024 Summer Youth Program Info Sessions

Information sessions provide customers with demonstrations of registration and assistance in setting up or resetting accounts. Additionally, these sessions offer staff the opportunity to verify information for individuals eligible for the reduced fee, as well as provide registration assistance. Information sessions for qualifying for the reduced fee will commence on March 13th and will be held weekly until May 22nd.

Wednesdays: 5pm-8pm
Saturdays: 10am-2pm

Registration Opens April 20th at 9:00am
Online and in person registration occurs simultaneously. Spaces are limited at each site.

REGISTRATION FEES
To be eligible for the reduced fee, it is necessary to submit the requisite documentation to our staff in person prior to registration. Additionally, the documentation for reduced fee qualification must be renewed annually. For detailed information on reduced fees and necessary documentation, please refer to the fee chart provided above.

ONLINE REGISTRATION
To register online, you must first create an account if you do not already have one, and then proceed with the registration process. To initiate this process, please click on the link provided below labeled “Learn How to Register Online.” Individuals eligible for reduced fees must be pre approved in person by staff at information and registration sessions, with appropriate documentation, before attempting to register online. This pre approval is necessary to receive the discounted fee during the online checkout process.

IN PERSON REGISTRATION
You are welcome to visit any of our 18 participating Community Centers or our Ron Darner Parks and Recreation Headquarters during their respective hours of operation. Woodlawn Park Gym is only offering on-line registration.
