George Block Aquatics Center

The "Original" Northside pool opened in 1978 and was re-named the George Block Aquatics Center in 2010. The facility has a 50 meter by 20 yard competitive pool and features two 1 meter boards and a 3 meter board.

When not hosting competitions, this facility is used for a variety of programs including open/fitness swim, classes in Aquarobics, swim lessons.

Pool rules

THE PRESENCE AND/OR USE OF CELL PHONES AND ANY OTHER EQUIPMENT CAPABLE OF PRODUCING PHOTOGRAPHIC OR VIDEO IMAGES IN LOCKER ROOMS IS STRICTLY AND SPECIFICALLY PROHIBITED AT ALL TIMES.

Clean bathing suits are required – No cutoffs. Any other exemptions (religious or otherwise) must be approved before entering water. 

All children must be potty trained - NO DIAPERS OF ANY KIND ALLOWED.

HEALTHY SKIN IS REQUIRED BY STATE LAW. Admission will be denied to anyone with an infection, inflammation or contagious disease of the skin.

Guests who have had a stomach virus resulting in diarrhea within the last two week period are not allowed in the pool.

Please shower before entering the water.

Please put your trash in the trash cans.

Lockers may be used for the time you are in the facility. Any lock used must be removed when you leave. Any lock left on a locker will be cut off and will not be replaced by NISD. NISD is not responsible for personal items that are stolen or damaged while in our facility.

For Your Safety

Guests must follow the directions of the facility staff at all times. Individuals that do not comply will be asked to leave the aquatic/athletic complex.
ALWAYS WALK IN THE POOL AREA.

Feet first entry into pool is required at all times.

Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  All non-swimmers must be in physical contact with caretakers, even when using flotation devices. 

Unnecessary roughness is not permitted in or around the pool area.

Roped areas are for fitness swimming only, unless designated by a lifeguard for other use.

No breakable objects (Glass, Ceramic, Heavy or Thick Plastic) are allowed in pool.

No alcohol, E- cigarettes, tobacco or firearms possession/use are allowed in or on school district property (State Law).

Chewing gum is not allowed in the pool or surrounding area. Spitting is not allowed.

Clothing or body art (e.g. tattoos) that is indecent/offensive in nature or overly distractive is not acceptable.

Inappropriate or offensive patches, writings or images on clothing, or patrons is prohibited.

Guests will be asked to cover up or remove images on clothing that are in violation of this policy.
