Welcome to The Montessori School of San Antonio

Where children are guided to be passionate learners, independent thinkers, and engaged citizens.

The Montessori School of San Antonio was founded as the Judson School – a Montessori Workshop in 1974. From there it has grown to include Primary, Elementary, and Middle School Montessori programs. The MSSA campus is a secure 24-acre parcel at the intersection of Loop 1604 and Rogers Ranch Parkway in far North-Central San Antonio with a surrounding environment designed specifically to meet the learning criteria set out by Dr. Maria Montessori.

As a parent, I can confidently say that I could not have chosen a better community for my children and our family unit. MSSA works hard to maintain a wonderful learning environment where grace and courtesy are always paramount. The education is challenging, yet manageable, and it allows students to have a very subtle transition when moving on to a higher grade-level."

Academics at MSSA

With an active and experiential learning environment, the academic program at The Montessori School of San Antonio lays the foundation for children to become lifelong learners. Smaller class sizes allow for accommodating individual students and their personal learning styles. MSSA values all student’s unique strengths and guides them to become strong community members.

We love hearing from our graduates!💚💙
Montessori taught me to manage my time, something that my previous school never showed me. Montessori was a place where I could think freely, become independent, broaden my horizons, and become a well-rounded person. I credit Montessori for making me the person I am today. Before transferring there, I had no idea about all these tools and how they would help me in high school and beyond. I didnt even realize how well Montessori prepared me until I left, and I met people who had never gone to a school like mine. Montessori is significant to me because it helped me grow so much and prepared me so well for the future. I look for Montessori everywhere I go. Say hello to Ms. Judy!👋
Always smiling and endlessly patient, Ms. Judy greets each child with warmth and love. Her calm presence brings joy and a special kind of magic to the classroom every day. She uses song to gently guide children through transitions and finds creative ways to weave nature into purposeful play. Wednesdays with Ms. Judy are especially beloved—full of movement, motor skill development, and laughter as children stretch, dance, and explore how their bodies move. Ms. Judy has been with MSSA for 14 years, and we are so lucky to have her as a Primary assistant. #mssa #themontessorischoolofsanantonio #teachersrock
