Benefits of a Classical Curriculum

Our Curriculum

Following the great intellectual tradition of the classical liberal arts, Regina Caeli™ curriculum utilizes a classical methodology that rests on the concept of the Trivium, Latin for “the three ways” of learning: grammar, logic and rhetoric – which correspond to a student’s naturally maturing mind. Classroom work such as narration, picture study, presentation, and oral and written persuasion show the interconnectedness of all knowledge through the contemplation of the True, the Good, and the Beautiful. Classical education based on the trivium, integrated classical books, art and music, and idea-focused instruction provides students with the foundation to live a principled life and is proven to cultivate wisdom and virtue so that the love of God may abound more and more.

  • Where will the new center be?
The Regina Caeli team will support the local expansion volunteers with finding a facility that is convenient to the applicant families. Determining a location by January 15th will help prospective families discern if they are ready to move forward with the application process.

  • Must families be Catholic in order to enroll?
No, but the teachings of the Catholic Church will be upheld in every classroom, and the Catholic culture of our centers provides each student the experience of celebrating the beauty and richness of the Catholic Faith. Regina Caeli parents commit to completing lesson plans as they are written on home days, thereby preparing students for the classroom experience on Center days. Our family interview process provides parents the opportunity to ask questions and decide if RCA is the best fit for their children. If you are not Catholic, we ask you to prayerfully consider if you are seeking the curriculum and Catholic culture as it is experienced at Regina Caeli.
  • How do I transfer my student’s high school transcript to Regina Caeli?
High School Transcripts for high school transfer students will be required to complete the application for enrollment. You will need to upload a pdf into FACTS to complete the application. Additionally, an official transcript must be submitted to the business office. To request an institution to order a transcript, please contact the new school’s main office and provide them with the Regina Caeli Academy Corporate Office address. Transcript requests should be to the ATTN: Registrar Office: Regina Caeli Academy P.O. Box 924409 Peachtree Corners, GA 30092-8777
  • Are extracurricular activities offered?

    Records Request Form
  • Do you offer sports?
RCA does not officially offer sports, but some Centers offer clubs or organized homeschool teams via the initiative of local parents. Additionally, some school districts allow homeschool students to participate in athletics at their local independent school districts.
  • How does a typical center day schedule work?
A Center day is a lot like a typical day would be at an excellent Catholic classical school! We begin the center day with community prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance at morning assembly followed by math instruction and additional academic instruction in Language Arts, Latin, Religion, Science, History and Literature. All students and staff pause midday to pray the Angelus and enjoy lunch and recess. Our lower school students also participate in Art, Drama, Music and PE. The center day closes with an afternoon assembly that includes community prayer, announcements and family dismissal.
  • What is included in the composite fee?
The composite fee includes all supplies provided by the center for science experiments, art projects, readers for class, teaching materials, 1 yearbook per family, IT and gradebook costs and more.
  • How many hours per day do you anticipate students doing school work on home days?
The answer to this question is as varied as our many families. Multiple factors contribute to the amount of time each student will spend doing school work on a homeschool day. Those new to teaching their children at home are often surprised at how much they can get done, and how much free time it leaves the family, without the procedures and other distractions of a school day. Some factors that have the potential to make a significant impact are listed below: Student age Level of independence Temperament General attentiveness Presence of learning disabilities Interest in the subject matter Challenge of the material Proficiency in a certain skill Level of parental engagement That said, RCA designs its curriculum so that the workload is reasonable for an average student. The ranges listed below indicate the typical amount of time an average student will spend doing assignments each home day. These ranges are averages. Some students finish their work in less time, and other students take longer to finish their work. PreK4 - Kindergarten: 1 - 2 hrs 1st - 2nd grades: 1.5 - 2.5 hrs 3rd - 4th grades: 2 - 4 hrs 5th - 6th grades: 2.5 - 4.5 hrs 7th - 8th grades: 3 - 5 hrs 9th - 12th grades: 5 - 8 hrs
  • Do you offer accommodations for students with an IEP or 504 plan?
Although we cannot directly honor IEPs or 504 plans, we offer accommodations based on student/family needs and what is reasonable in the context of the local center. Regina Caeli has a full-time Learning Support Specialist who can consult with families to ensure that students' needs are met at the center and during home days; the Learning Support Specialist works with the family and center staff to implement reasonable accommodations that ensure the student receives the maximum benefit of our classical curriculum. Accommodations Policy
  • What kind of flexibility is there for our family if we choose to travel?
Enjoying more flexibility to travel is yet another benefit of our homeschool hybrid model! Each family structures their home days as they choose. When opportunities to travel arise, some families work ahead and others complete assignments as they travel. That said, instruction at center days continue as planned. We ask that each family make arrangements for when assignments will be submitted and tests taken with the local coordinator prior to travel.
  • How do I transfer my student’s high school transcript to Regina Caeli?
Your high school student's application to RCA will require a PDF of his or her official transcript. To request an institution to order a transcript, please contact the school’s main office and provide them with the registar’s email address (registrar@rcahybrid.org) or the Regina Caeli Academy Corporate Office address. Electronic submission is preferred. Mailed transcript requests should be sent to the ATTN: Registrar Office: Regina Caeli Academy P.O. Box 924409 Peachtree Corners, GA 30092-8777
  • What is the Homeschool Hybrid Model? How is RCA different from a homeschool co-op? How is it different from a school?
In our unique model, children learn at home following structured lesson plans while coming together for two days each week at the local center. RCA combines the best of both worlds, giving you an enriched family life with the structure and accountability of our curated, accredited curriculum, and the peace and benefits of a like-minded community.
  • Do you offer placement tests?
At Regina Caeli we desire to foster a love of learning for our students. To support this, it is important for our students to participate in classes that are challenging enough to grow in understanding, but remain within the scope of a student’s ability. In accordance with this value, we offer placement tests in English/Language Arts for Kindergarten through 6th graders, and Mathematics placement tests for all incoming 3rd-12th grade students. Additionally, all incoming 7th-12th graders complete a written response sample during the placement test process.
  • What is your typical class size and teacher/student ratio?
Regina Caeli seeks to provide classrooms with focused instruction and a small tutor to student ratio. This will vary by age from 1:3 for our youngest students to 1:15 for our older students.
  • How do I add high school credit to my child’s transcript?
For enrolled students, a parent may email the registrar or mail an official transcript to the business office.
  • Does the tuition payment cover the cost of student books?
Books and uniforms are not included in the tuition and composite (supply/activity) fee.
  • How many hours per day do you anticipate students doing school work on home days?
This will vary per grade level and efficiency of the student. However, PreK lessons are designed to be approximately an hour or less and that will gradually increase until High School when a student is studying more independently and for longer periods of time on home days.
  • Do you have a waiting list?
Many of our Centers do have wait pools. Please reach out to admissions@rcahybrid.org for more information.
  • Does the tuition payment cover the cost of student books?
Books and uniforms are not included in the tuition and composite (supply) fee.
  • How can I preview the curriculum?
The required student booklist per class and grade level is located here. We have sample lesson plans for each grade level and class for parents to preview when requested.
  • Does RCA provide any sort of standardized tests?
Yes; we partner with the Classical Learning Test (CLT) and provide our 3rd-12th grade students with one CLT exam each year, in addition to a practice exam. The CLT meets the standardized testing requirement for many states’ homeschool laws, but we recommend our families verify what is needed in their particular location.
  • Can I still enroll for this year?
Our applications for 2025-2026 are now open for centers with current availability. Our 2024-2025 enrollment is now closed.
  • How do I add high school credit to my child’s transcript?
For enrolled students, a parent may email the registrar or mail a transcript to the business office.
