Get ready for a wild summer! At Zoo Camp, campers will not only have the opportunity to learn about everything scaly, furry, and feathery, but they’ll find out how they can help San Antonio Zoo in securing a future for wildlife! Spending most of the day outdoors, campers will stay active and engaged with zoo tours, fun activities and games, exclusive experiences, and visiting animals.

Animal Artists & Engineers
The world is filled with amazing creatures that build high-tech homes, tricky traps, and other cool creations. Explore the incredible and beautiful designs that animals and nature have developed to survive, and how we all can help secure a future for wildlife.

Explore the wild side of zoo careers! Providing amazing animal care is more than just cleaning – join the zoo crew for a hands-on experience and behind-the-scenes look at the many ways San Antonio Zoo cares for animals: from enrichment, nutrition, and cleaning, to ticket sales, marketing and facility maintenance…and much more!

No school? No problem! Campers will spend their school breaks exploring the zoo, playing themed games, and discovering new things about their favorite animals!

Exploring and spending time outdoors is what Spring Break Nature Adventure is all about! While this experience does not include a visit to the zoo, each day will bring new opportunities to explore the great outdoors with fun activities, games and art projects, and, of course, meet some incredible animal ambassadors.

Zoo Camp welcomes all stripes! Our dedicated camp counselors and Education staff are committed to providing exceptional experiences for campers of all abilities. During your Zoo Camp adventure, you can expect the following:
- Exploring San Antonio Zoo grounds, which has diverse smells, light levels, noise, and temperatures.
- Navigating through terrain that may be uneven at times.
- Spending up to 2 hours at a time outdoors, covering a distance of 1-3 miles per day.
- Engaging in group activities and enjoying the zoo-wide experiences.
- Transitioning between different surfaces, including the floor or ground.
- Using the restroom without assistance.
- Accessing public restrooms throughout the zoo.
- Maintaining a positive attitude and adhering to staff instructions.
We strive to create a comfortable and successful environment for every camper. To assist us in providing the best possible experience, please inform us of any special considerations in advance or through your camper’s registration form. This information may include allergies, accessibility concerns, behavioral, psychological, or emotional conditions, as well as any other special needs. If your child requires the presence of a full-time care provider, please reach out to us before registration at education@sazoo.org. We welcome the support of a professional aide to support the child. We are committed to working with you to ensure that Zoo Camp is accessible for campers with varying needs. However, please note that we are unable to provide one-on-one support or supplementary services. Join us at Zoo Camp and embark on an inclusive and memorable journey filled with excitement, learning, and fun!
- Zoo Camp Safety Measures will be updated as new state/local guidelines are available for summer camp programs.
- Zoo Camp refunds are available with a minimum of ten days’ notice, minus a $10 processing fee.
