The City of San Antonio Department of Arts & Culture—in collaboration with the Office of Sustainability—presents an exhibition dedicated to climate, the environment, and community response. Resilient and Responsive: Artists and the Environment explores our understanding of science, nature, and impact on the natural world. This exhibition will be on display April 11, 2024 through January 17, 2025.

With insights from artists in our community, the issue of sustainability comes to life. This exhibition prompts conversations around our environment and provokes calls to action in support of San Antonio’s Climate Action and Adaptation Plan. The artworks feature a range of traditional art mediums, as well as non-traditional repurposed and sustainable materials.

Participating Artists:
Margaret Craig, Manuel Davila, Celeste De Luna, Aminah Decé, Kwanzaa Edwards, Jose Esquivel, Audrya Flores, Jacob Garza, Lindsey Hurd, Marcos Medellin, Ashley Mireles, Linda Monsivais Hernandez, Doerte Weber and Andrea Willems.

Poetry Night in Culture Commons - The Department of Arts & Culture will host a Poetry Night on Thursday, May 9, 2024, from 6 PM – 8 PM at the Culture Commons Gallery (115 Plaza de Armas). Local poets will perform new works inspired by this exhibition. This event is free and open to the public. Click here for event details.
